STAR test

Description: We did a Star test in class on friday. A star test is a test with four diferent sections, one on word recognition, one on sentence comprehension, one on paragraph comprehension and one on volcabulary. There are also different stanines depending on what score you got. The top stanines is stanines nine. If you get stanine five then you are at the standard of your age group. I'm a year 6. I got a stanine nine. Here is a photo of the back of the test to show my scores.

Big idea: We had to chose a goal around what we got right and wrong. I got 50 out of 50 so I had to think of my own goal.  My goal is to read a wider variety of different kinds of books and articles. To do this I could ask a friend/family member to help and to give me advice on different kinds books.

  1. That sounds like an excellent and achievable goal, Ana. You could start by regularly reading news articles.

  2. Well done Ana, that's a very good goal you've set yourself. One idea would be to read cookbooks and then try making the recipes for me.
